7pm, Saturday 21 April, Festival Marquee

Comedienne, writer and broadcaster, Sandi Toksvig will be hosting an evening of sparkling conversation, clever party games and plenty of interaction with the audience on Saturday 21 April.

Sandi’s one-woman show will be a first for the Isle of Wight and is brought to you in association with On The Wight. You can expect a brilliant combination of wit and erudition – Sandi is justifiably celebrated for her wry and warm-hearted observations on pretty much any topic you can name.

Sandi is a prolific performer, broadcaster and writer. She started her career in a variety of Footlights show while studying archaeology and anthropology at Cambridge. She went on to be a founder member of the Comedy Store Players and a regular performer on TV’s Whose Line is it Anyway.

Her many TV credits include QI, Have I Got News For You, Time Team, and Island Race with John McCarthy. She is a familiar voice on the radio as the presenter of Radio 4’s Excess Baggage and The News Quiz. She has also contributed to Loose Ends and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue. On stage she has performed for a season at the Nottingham Playhouse and with the New Shakespeare Company at Regent’s Park.

Sandi has written numerous books for adults, with her latest novel, Valentine Grey, set to be published this autumn. Her books for children include The Littlest Viking and Hitler’s Canary. She also writes regularly for the Sunday Telegraph and Good Housekeeping.
