Bellringing. Have you ever wondered how the sound from the church tower is made?

Come and find out on the 12th, 13th and 14th October 2012, as St Mary’s Bell Ringers, Brading are holding demonstration workshops as part of Brading Bash.

There will be displays in church about the bells and the restoration appeal, and also the chance to see what the bells look like and how they work by means of a video camera linked up to a TV in church.

An opportunity to have a go at bell ringing yourself will also be available over the weekend.

The ringers are treating this event as a fund-raising event, and while there is no charge for the workshops, donations will be gratefully received for the restoration appeal.

The exact times for the workshops are as follows; Friday – 12:00pm - 4:00pm Saturday – 10:00am - 4:00pm Sunday – 12:00pm - 4:00pm

There will also be a sponsored Quarter peal of ‘Little Grandsire Triples’ starting at 5pm on the Sunday. Any donations during this will be welcomed towards the restoration appeal of the bells.
