Upycling expert Dan Roberts will explain some of his amazing creations made from other peoples junk. Dan is a plumber, inventor and artist with a passion for making treasure from trash.

Among Dan’s creations are a giant wooden tricycle which he rode around Spain having hand-crafted it from reclaimed materials. He has also made many smaller things from skip salvage including tables and beautiful magnifying posts. Dan even built an extension on his house from reclaimed wood.

This session will start with a short talk from Dan about some of his creations, their uses and the reason he is so keen to reuse other people’s waste. He is keen that we don’t spend too long talking though, so pretty soon we’ll all be rolling our sleeves up and having a go. Don’t worry if you’re not handy with tools, you don’t have to by a DIY freak to join in. We’ll look at design, selection and sourcing of materials and construction and finishing. By the end of the workshop we should have finished some beautiful things to leave behind in the new community garden.
