Jo West, a photographer, and Mandy Bangerter, a textile illustrator, work collaboratively, pushing the boundaries of the photographic image using digital and darkroom photography together with mixed media stitch.
This exhibition explores landscapes associated with the life and death of the writer Virginia Woolf. The Sussex landscape and River Ouse where Woolf spent much of her time and ultimately ended her life and St Ives which formed vivid childhood memories which later influenced her fiction, most notably To the Lighthouse. The work explores complex family relations across three generations and echoes the three generations linking Virginia Woolf and Julia Margaret Cameron.
Exhibition runs 30th August - 29th October. Dimbola is open Mon-Sun, 10am-5pm.
