Eve appeal afternoon tea

Owner of Dairy Cottage Kitchen, Rachel Brown, is hosting a tea party to raise funds for the Eve Appeal, the only national gynaecological cancer research charity in the UK, currently funding world-class research to save women's lives.

The tea party is being held on 17th March at Newport Congregational Church, as part of the charity’s Make Time for Tea campaign to celebrate Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and help raise funds and awareness of the disease.

A special thank you
Rachel is hosting the tea party as a thank you to all the women on the Isle of Wight who have supported her over the last five years.

The event has been inspired by the late 19th Century Victorian tea rooms, where women met to discuss issues of the day and the matters that concerned them.

Events like this 'so important'
Athena Laminios, Chief Executive of The Eve Appeal said,

“We are really grateful to Rachel for this superb support – events like this are so important in raising awareness of gynaecological cancers whilst also raising funds for out important research. "Anyone can organise a tea party, so why not invite your friends or colleagues this March and help save more mothers, daughters, sisters and wives.”

The Tea Party will be taking place between 1:30 and 3:30pm, with lots of homemade cake, drinks and conversation, in return for donations to The Eve Appeal.

The Eve Appeal
The Eve Appeal was launched in 2002 and is the UK's only gynaecological cancer research charity raising funds for all five gynaecological cancers; womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. We raise funds for our life-saving research which will ultimately prevent these cancers and diagnose them earlier so that more lives can be saved as well as raising vital awareness of signs and symptoms.

Major breakthroughs are already being achieved towards improving survival rates of women with gynaecological cancer and since 2002, we have managed to raise more than £6.7 million towards our pioneering research.
