Frack Free Isle of Wight is a group of individuals from all walks of life, committed to raising awareness of the local, national and global issues surrounding fracking and other fossil fuel exploitation methods.
Did you know that at the end of January UK Oil & Gas Investments announced their intention to accelerate their quest to drill for oil on our island? The first area in their line of sight is Arreton, the second is just offshore of Compton Bay.
This is a public meeting, open to all. We will have a presentation with the latest updates on what is happening regarding oil and gas drilling on the Island, as well as information about the potential impacts: economic, social and environmental.
The presentation will be followed by Q&As and an open discussion.
Friendly and informal, free refreshments, all welcome, regardless of your thoughts on the issue.
Doors open at 7pm, presentation at 730pm.
