Kate and Geoff are a comfortably retired couple preparing to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary when a letter arrives, revealing that the body of Geoff's first love, who died when they were on a romantic walking holiday, has been found frozen in an icy glacier of the Swiss Alps. As the party nears, and they reflect on the realities of what might have been, it may be that the marriage will not last that long.

Fine performances from a stellar British cast make for an intelligent and moving story.
