In the mountains of central Anatolia, businessman Aydin and his pretty, young wife Nihal run a small hotel, but the marriage is a stormy one. As the snow begins to fall and the tourists depart, tensions between the overbearing Aydin, his unhappy wife, his divorced sister and the villagers who hate him awaken and are revealed in long, searching conversations in fire-lit rooms. The wide screen images of the eerie, snowcovered Cappadocian landscape are captivating but what unfolds is an intimate character study of a man embroiled in emotional warfare.
