Ventnor Film Society presents The Grand Budapest Hotel

An unlikely couple, Elise, a tattoo parlour owner, and musician Didier are brought together by a love of American culture and music and soon find themselves with an unplanned child. But when tragedy strikes the young family, their relationship and increasingly opposed beliefs are stretched to breaking point. This is a dramatic and sometimes bleak tale of a passionate relationship played out against a fantastic soundtrack of foot-tapping bluegrass music.

Elise and Didier fall in love at first sight. She has her own tattoo shop and he plays the banjo in a bluegrass band. They bond over their shared enthusiasm for American music and culture, and dive headfirst into a sweeping romance that plays out on and off stage - but when an unexpected tragedy hits their new family, everything they know and love is tested.
