The ‘Box Show’ is being held at the Porchfield Village Hall this coming Friday, starting at 6:30pm. When asked what it involves, Jed said,

It is different to your usual poultry show; participants simply turn up on the evening with their exhibits (a maximum of five), each is given a raffle ticket, and then these tickets are all put into a hat together.

To start two numbers are pulled out, these birds are brought up to the front of the hall and each put into a pen.

The judge, Rob Whittington, will then choose his favourite of the two, the winner will remain in the pen, the loser returns to its box, and another number is called and another bird comes to the front of the hall, and so it goes on.

The two birds left in the pens after all of the numbers have been called being named the Best & Reserve. We hope that this will prove to be a great social event, with refreshments on offer, as well as a chance for beginners to learn about what our hobby involves.
