Eltjo beowulf

2013 is the 1000th anniversary of the Anglo-Saxon King Aethelred the Unready’s stay on the Isle of Wight, before fleeing to Normandy. Beowulf is a tale from these times, following the heroic deeds of the mighty warrior from Geatland: Beowulf!

Originally in verse, professional Actor and Storyteller Eltjo de Vries retells the exploits of Beowulf - his battles against the mighty Grendel, Sea Witch and Dragon – in his inimitable improvisational style without script, creating a unique performance, and bringing the essence of storytelling as it once may have been all those many years ago in the smoke filled roundhouses of the Dark Ages! The performance is geared for the age range stated, but those who are children at heart are welcome to join in.

(Some violent episodes occur!)
