Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July

The annual event at Shalfleet goes from strength to strength as this year 11 artists will be exhibiting in the Village Hall and Church, showcasing an amazing range of Island creativity, with paintings, photography, textiles, ceramics, fused glass, porcelain, and jewellery on display.

Some of our artists are exhibiting their work for the first time, others have won international success and national awards so this is a unique opportunity to come and talk to us about our work and if you see something you like, to buy direct from us.

In the Village Hall the artists include Zoe Barker (photographer) Nikki Brown (polymer clay artist) Gillian Chapman (felt maker) Pat Clarke (painter) Pauline Evans (kiln formed glass) Marion Large (painter) and Lis Toft (porcelain and jewellery). In the Church Jeni Saunders will be displaying her silver jewellery alongside textile artists Su Douglas, Tracy O’Brien an Alison Peters. Many of the artists will be demonstrating their skills throughout the weekend.

There will also be LIVE MUSIC as Merlynna Johnson will be returning to play her wonderful concert harp in the Church on Saturday & Sunday between 2 – 4pm and ‘The Wight Ukers’ will be performing in the meadow at 2.30 on Sunday afternoon.

Shalfleet Open Studios is on Friday 17th to Sunday 19th July, open each day from 10am – 5pm (open in the Church after the service on Sunday). Admission is FREE, with donations to the Church and Hall funds welcome. Our famous home-made cakes and teas will be available in the ‘Tea Tent in the Meadow’ next to the Hall. There is good disabled access and plenty of free parking at the Hall and in Mill Road.

We hope you will take up this invitation to come along and meet the artists in this beautiful location in Shalfleet.
