Japancese watercolour woodblock printing is a beautifully subtle and painterly technique, ideal for those wishing to print at home without a press. Students will go through all the stages of making a watercolour woodblock print: designing and piecing their image onto blocks; using traditional Japanese tools to cut wood; preparing paper, rice paste and paints for printing and using horsehair brushes and bamboo discs to create their final print. All abilities.
