This brand new adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel ‘Little Women’ as a ‘play with music,’ will be a unique experience for lovers of period drama incorporating mid-19th Century costumes, dancing and live Classical music played by a small orchestra. The play is to be staged at Freshwater Memorial Hall on 27th, 28th and 29th January 2012.

Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War the story follows the lives of the March family; attractive Meg, tomboy Jo, shy Beth, precocious Amy and their loving mother, whilst their father is away at war. Even though money is short and times are tough, their infectious sense of fun sweeps everyone up in their adventures – including Laurie, the boy next door. And through sisterly squabbles, their happy times and sad ones too, the sisters discover that growing up can sometimes be very hard.

Performed by a talented cast of actors from Ventnor Theatre Group, this show will appeal to all ages from grandparents to grandchildren, and would make a highly original and affordable gift for Christmas, and something to look forward to in the post-festive season!

The performances are at 7.30pm on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th January, and matinees will be performed at 2.30pm on Saturday 28th, and Sunday 29th January.
