Vectis Astronomical Society are hosting a Dark Wight Skies evening followed by Stargazing if the skies are clear

The will be 3 short presentations as follows:

Joel Bateman - AONB Communication and Projects Officer Will talk about the proposed Dark Sky Park area and show a map. Also how the area was worked out and how it’s going to be managed.

John Langley - Chair of IOW Branch of the CPRE Will talk about light pollution and how it’s being dealt with, giving examples of good and bad lighting and will mention the good lighting awards scheme.

Bryn Davies - Chair of Vectis Astronomical Society Will talk about the criteria and requirements for the Dark Sky Park award and the method and work involved in getting the award.

Bring a torch and wear warm clothing
