The streets of Ventnor will be transformed this Saturday (12th) as VentnorVille returns for a Christmas extravaganza. 10am. Meet The Grinch in Upper Ventnor outside St Francis School. He’ll then head into town for a procession in his sleigh at around 10.30am
10am – 6pm. Undecided Art Collective at The Exchange
10.30am – 4pm. ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR – The Winter Gardens
10.30am – 4pm. FESTIVE COUNTRY MARKET – The Baptist Church
10.30am – 4pm. ALTERNATIVE FOOD MARKET – at Ventnor Central (the former youth club). Drop by and enjoy the Travelling Tea Room with scrumptious cakes, and stalls with sweeties, popcorn, candyfloss and Christmas themed goodies. Plus beer tasting with Ventnor Botanic Garden.
10.30am – 3pm. SANTA’S GROTTO in the High Street. Meet Santa and the Grinch – it’s £1 and every child receives a present. Santa’s Grotto will be manned by Father Christmas (Ventnor Rotary) in the morning, while the Grinch and Santa (VBA & Volunteers) will take over in the afternoon.
11am – 2pm. VISIT THE LIVE NATIVITY SCENE at The Spar Shop in Victoria Street. Come and see live animals and characters from the Nativity, and maybe even a lobster (remember… this is Ventnor!)
Midday. SANTA DASH – Children’s race across Ventnor Beach organised by Ventnor Scouts
3pm. Children’s Fancy Dress Competition – St Catherine’s Church. Come as your favourite Disney character! There are cash prizes for the winners.
4.30pm. WINTER CARNIVAL AND LANTERN PARADE – organised by the volunteers from Ventnor’s Earl Mountbatten Hospice shop. All children are invited to participate in the twinkling tour of the town. Meet at Dudley Road.
5.15pm. FAMILY CAROL SERVICE AT VENTNOR PARK. Hot drinks and mince pies will be provided by the Ventnor Enhancement Fund.
7pm. CINDERELLA – a pantomime at The Winter Gardens by Ventnor Theatre Group starring lots of local children (tickets from Box Office or Wendy’s in the High Street)
