A free workshop and presentation for Health Care Professionals and Health Care Providers.

The event will highlight the risk of injury to staff,residents and patients during moving and handling interventions which cost the Health and Social Care sector in the region of £400 million per year.

There will be a presentation on the Mhaps system which is currently being piloted by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust at St Mary's hospital and Wight Home Care.

Mhaps is a management system designed to improve communication of critical safety information by the use of symbols and pictures rather than written language, therefore, supporting staff for whom English is not their first language or who may have literacy issues such as dyslexia.
