The Oar’some Memories Challenge will see 12 intrepid amateur kayakers paddle their way around the Isle of Wight in September 2014 to raise awareness of, and funds for, services for those affected with dementia on the island.

To launch their challenge, and kick off a summer of fundraising, the Oar-some Team are hosting a special beach party with the support of The Dell Café, Puckpool.

There will be beach games, disco and BBQ from 4.30pm with the whole crew, amongst other fundraising the group will be selling raffle tickets for the chance to win the Oar-some Kayak Package, which consists of everything you need to get out on the water. Including a Tootega Pulse 95 Kayak with paddle and seat generously donated by Earth, Wind and Water; Voucher for a wetsuit, wetsuit shoe and buoyancy aid from BMS Marine Engineers; Kayak wheels, dry bag and other accessories from Wight Island Kayaks and a set of Kayak Lessons with Tackt Isle Adventures I.O.W.
