LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOPS FOR VENTNOR LANTERN PARADE

Ventnor Christmas Carnival and Lantern Parade is on Saturday 14th December at 5.45pm.

Lots of lanterns need to be made and people to take part, to make the event a real success and a lovely start to Christmas.

There are 2 different lantern workshops taking place this year to make your lanterns. You will have time to complete a lantern in one session, or if you prefer, make the frame at one session and come back to another session to finish it.

The lanterns are made from willow and tissue and are not difficult to make. Tutors will be there to help and advice you.

If you have a lantern from last year, then you can bring it along for a make-over.

The workshops are taking place at the Youth Centre on Victoria Street.

• Saturday 30th November from 11am – 2pm

• Saturday 7th December from 11am – 2pm

All adults and families are welcome to attend, but no unaccompanied children under 12 please.

The cost is just £4 per lantern and this includes a battery light. There will be a concessionary rate available for families making 3 or more lanterns.

There is no need to book, just come along on the day, but for more information contact Alison at The New Carnival Company on 716095 / 07807 370179 or e-mail:[email protected]
