A new bank and a new monetary system: The deluded plan of mad men – or a stroke of pure genius?

All over the country there are meetings being held to present to local communities the idea of a new bank . and an alternative monetary system. The extraordinary claim by its proponents is that based on getting a critical mass of users signed up it is possible to issue interest free money for business loans and mortgages.

Thousands of people are signing up and if the claims of its advocates are true... then the long called for shake up of the banking system demanded by dissatisfied customers could be on its way - courtesy not of government or of self-regulation by the banking industry, but of good old fashioned British entrepreneurial spirit.

The idea of a new monetary system is being championed by The British Constitution Group (BCG)... a pressure group whose statement of purpose includes the aim of ‘self-determination and the reassertion of our constitution and the rule-of-law.’

The Chairman of the BCG, Roger Hayes argues that the collective banking fraternity has helped lay waste to the commercial enterprise of our nation with its restrictive practices and blatant greed. Strong words that seem to meet with universal agreement wherever one goes.

There is no question about it... the banks have become enormously unpopular and a new bank/monetary system just might be the right idea at the right time.

“There is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come” Victor Hugo

Roger is very forthright in his views - he asserts that the banks are nothing less than a criminal fraternity in suits.

In various videos on the internet he explains how it is that the banks (not government) control the issuance of all new money through loans and that this should be the sole preserve of government and consistent with the aim of the BCG he argues that we should take back control of the issuance of our money for the benefit of the people and not for the benefit of greedy bankers.

Roger’s arguments are both passionate and persuasive and if his claims are right... will indeed benefit the people at the expense of the banks... and who can argue against interest free mortgages and interest free loans?

There has been many an idea that has seemed so much pie-in-the-sky one moment, having then materialised as staggering successful businesses the next – take Facebook, Google and E-bay as just three perfect modern day examples. The Lawful Bank just might be another success story about to happen.

If we all want to see improved banking services as appears to be the case then surely we owe it to Roger and The British Constitution Group to listen to what they have to say.
