Isle of Wight Council’s Bereavement Services are hosting an activity event on behalf of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in the Heritage Learning Centre, Ryde Cemetery. The event will run from 10am to 4pm.

The day will consist of video presentations and talks given by Carl Liversage from the War Graves Commission, along with visual DVDs, display boards and exhibitions, to include large model aircraft relating to both WW1 and WW2.

Tours linking to war graves within the cemetery will also be taking place throughout the day.

The day's events will be covering interest for all ages within the Island community; there will be a display from Dover Park School who have been researching the local war graves.

The event is also being supported by Ryde Social Heritage Group who have provided historical reference materials.

Tea and coffee will be available, donated by volunteers of Ryde Cemetery.
