Andrew Turner, the Island’s MP, has organised a public meeting in East Cowes Town Hall on Saturday 16th April at 2pm to give Islanders a say on the future use of the currently unused parts of Osborne House.
The Osborne Estates Act of 1902 says that the parts of the Osborne Estate (not the bit pictured) should be used for the benefit of members of the Armed Forces, Civil Service, and their families.
This requirement was fulfilled until ten years ago by the buildings being used as the King Edward VII Convalescence Home.
Anyone who is interested in viewing the layout of the rooms prior to the public meeting to help them come up with any suggestions should contact Mr Turner’s office on 01983 530808 to arrange a visit.
