You might think benches would not be a source of inspiration for poetry but you'd be wrong. Benchmarks is a project by Shore Women Writers which includes poetry, stories, photographs and performances about all the commemorative benches around West Wight.

Their Poetry Bench will be unveiled at the Needles Old Battery on Sunday April 3rd at 2pm and they will be reading from the brand new Benchmarks anthology from 3pm.

Come along and see the bench and then stick around for the poems, or just admire the view!
