The Photographer’s Studio opened its doors to the public with a unique show of ground-breaking work by Isle of Wight photographer, Julian Winslow.
The noted Island photographer – who came to public attention with his commercial and editorial work – has turned his attention to time, memory and the moment with his personal output.
The series entitled “Drive by Shooting” is a response to the childhood memory of driving to Compton Bay with his family and noticing that how at a particular speed you could “see through” the hedges to the veiled landscape beyond.
This has culminated as a series of landscape images where subtle tones and vivid colours blend across huge prints to reveal a hidden Island with impressionistic energy. There is a tremendous sense of space and time captured within these truly original images of the Island.
The show opened on Thursday 8th December and runs until the end of the year.
Open Tuesday – Saturday each week. Doors open at 10am until 5pm and entry is free.
