Are you a budding young or old Citizen Scientist?

Or is there a burning Scientist buried within you just waiting to burst out!

If so, Release Your Inner Scientist and join us for an intensive SharkLab LIVE! BIOBLITZ Beach Surveys, held over 6 days along the beautiful Sandown and Shanklin Shorelines. Each Survey is 3 hours long, starting at different times each day to coincide with the low tide.

Come along for as little or as long as you like, on any or all of the Survey Days and help Blue Seas Protection’s SharkLab conduct a LIVE Real-time Scientific Survey of Sandown and Shanklin Beaches.

Our Survey Mission: To hunt for Shark Eggcases [Mermaid’s Purses] and search for evidence of Seagrass along our shoreline.

Practicalities: Suitable for families, adults, anyone with mobility or health challenges (as we will be surveying close to the promenade, toilets, cafes, shops) and dogs on leads welcome on the dog-friendly beaches only!

The surveys will be led by Blue Seas Protection SharkLab team: all equipment will be provided, so please ensure you book a place for yourself, your group or family to help us ensure we bring enough equipment and for Health + Safety reasons.

Please wear waterproof boots, and weather appropriate clothing, as there are rocks + rock pools as well. Bring refreshments and a camera to snap your finds! [Optional]
