Fri 30 Nov – Sun 16 Dec 2018 | Clayden Gallery | Quay Arts
Opening event: Fri 30 Nov 5-7pm
A group show featuring work from nine Portfolio students, curated by lead tutor Nick Martin. The Portfolio Preparation course was a one year foundation-like course which gave students the opportunity to make a comprehensive body of work, with a range of theory and practice. Perspective, Life Drawing, Photoshop, Ceramics, Sculpture, Jewellery, Textiles, Printmaking, Colour theory and Landscape painting were just some of the workshops on offer on this exciting one day a week local course.
The Portfolio Preparation course has proved such a success that we are running it again from Jan to Nov 2019, every Tuesday over three terms. Led by Island artists/tutors, it is aimed at mature students or younger people who want to apply for Art courses at university level, or who simply want the experience of doing a foundation course. Held at Quay Arts and Jubilee Stores, mornings concentrate on basic principles of good drawing and painting practice and the afternoons offer practical workshops in a variety of artforms. For more info, please email Lead Tutor Nick Martin email@example.com and to view this years course online, please visit http://www.quayarts.org/event/portfolio-preparation/
Join us on Friday 30th Nov 5-7pm for the exhibition opening, and on Saturday mornings with some of the artists featured in the exhibition for a FREE informal walk & talk gallery tour: 8th & 15th Dec from 11am.
Gallery opening times: Mon - Sat, 10am - 5pm.
