Returning to Quay Arts, the modern mythic true crime tale of a family’s fight for justice. Exploring the identity and state of our coastal communities; inspired by the award-winning Guardian podcast of the same name, award-winning company Deadman (Artistic Director Samuel Bossman) brings the powerful tale of The Freshwater Five by Liam Patrick Harrison on a coastal communities tour, following sold-out performances on the Isle of Wight. Through spectacular storytelling, verbatim accounts, inventive stagecraft and song, it delves into subjects of classical/contemporary smuggling, immigration and folklore interwoven through this ancient profession and way of life. Supported by Arts Council, Farnham Maltings (Working Class Artists Fund) and The Mike Howley Trust.
As a company determined to improve access to theatre, we work with venues to keep our ticket prices as low as possible, especially here in our homeland, so everyone can get the benefit of new, exciting theatre.
