A multi-partner exhibition featuring artwork and outcomes from a year long Arts Council England funded project exploring the Isle of Wight Biosphere, in response to the Island’s UNESCO World Biosphere status, awarded in 2019.
The project brought together five partnerships comprising secondary schools, artists and cultural organisations independently and collaboratively exploring all that is special about the place we live in; the flora, fauna, landscape, people and traditions.
The project activity included creative workshops, field trips, gardening, pop-up displays and exhibitions and online blogs. Some of the major outcomes include films, costumes, sculpture, flags, murals and trails that have been showcased physically and online during the project, and now come together in this curated celebratory exhibition (supported by Interreg funding).
The partnerships are;
Cowes Enterprise College Liz Cooke Quay Arts
Island Free School Teresa Grimaldi Ventnor Exchange
The Bay School Brading Roman Villa Bruce Webb
IWEF-Isle of Wight Education Federation Independent Arts Trudie Wilson
Ryde Academy The New Carnival Company Jenna Sabine
