Leaving the light on fran farrar

A group of six Island printmakers are bringing a wonderfully energetic collection of prints together in the aptly entitled “Printmakers” exhibition over the second weekend of May at Quarr Abbey Art Gallery. The exhibition covers a variety of artistic printing techniques and all work will be for sale.

Each artist will be showcasing a selection of framed and unframed prints offering a richly crafted exhibition: Rachel Andrews’ nature inspired lino cuts; Fran Farrar’s personal and thought provoking, copper etchings and collographs; Vicky Fellows’ dynamic collographs and monotypes reflecting the geometric urban environment; Karen Mead’s detailed lino’s and etchings which explore the narrative around walkers on the seafront between Gurnard to Cowes; Margaret Moore’s evocative monotypes and photo transfer etchings; and Lyndy Moles’ experimental, multidisciplinary work inspired by the natural world.

The Quarr Abbey print exhibition runs over the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend Thursday 4 to Tuesday 9th May, is free to visit and open daily 10.00 - 1600 (Saturday 13.00 - 16.00). The printmakers will be there to chat about their practice and all work will be for sale. There’s plenty of parking and an additional opportunity to visit the grounds, farm shop and cafe of Quarr Abbey.
