On Friday, 1st and Saturday, 2nd July the Bonchurch Theatre Company are staging a play at Northcourt, Shorwell.
The play is entitled 'Earth, Fire and Water - Legends Of The Island'. As the name suggests, the play tells the story of a number of popular Isle of Wight local legends.
The play is being performed in the grounds of Norhcourt, and will commence at 6.45pm. Please bring your own chair and warm clothing.
The superb Northcourt gardens will be open from 6.00pm, so you are welcome to bring your own picnic.
In the event of wet weather, the play will be staged indoors. Tickets for the play are £10.00 each, with a £8 OAP concession. You can book by phoning 01983-730930. Audience numnbers will be limited to fifty, so early booking is advised.
The company are renowned for their productions with Island themes, and this is their latest original play with music and song. The legends include The Lost Village of Wolverton, The Shipwreck of the Clarendon, Betty Haunt, Ghostly Knighton Gorges, Mollie Downer, The Moving Stones of Godshill and the Flooding of Brading Harbour.
Also showing in Ryde An extra performance of the play has been arranged for Sunday, July 3rd, by the Historic Ryde Society.
