Island band Blackfoot Daisy are performing a gig at Newclose Cricket Club to say a special thank you to local keyworkers.
The gig, which is happening on Saturday 30th October, will be free for anyone holding an NHS or Emergency Services ID. Young Island performers Anna Parkinson and Cameron Frame will be the support act for the evening.
Blackfoot Daisy singer Sarah Searle says:
"The last 18 months or so have been really tough for everyone, performers like us included. But we owe such a great debt to those who have, and still are, putting themselves on the line for all of us. This gig is the best way we know to say thank you to them."
Blackfoot Daisy is made up of experienced musicians from the Island's music scene, Tim Marshall, Sarah Searle, Joe Saunders, Jenny White and Jamie Woodford. They play modern and classic country covers by the likes of Dolly Parton, Ward Thomas, The Shires and Carrie Underwood.
Drummer Jamie, who is also a frontline volunteer for HM Coastguard adds:
"As an emergency services keyworker myself, I have seen first hand the impact this devastating pandemic has had on my colleagues. It feels great to be able to give them something to say thank you."
As well as giving keyworkers free entry, all other tickets are £5 each with the proceeds being donated to NHS Charities Together.
