The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary have teamed up with the music group Quatrapuntal for the first ever Wildheart concert, which takes place at the Sanctuary on Friday August 20th, from 5PM.

Quatrapuntal rarely perform live on the island, and this will be the first concert since the pandemic. Chris Hirst, who plays mandora and Portuguese guitar with Quatrapuntal, said:

“The pandemic hit both animal attractions and the performing arts industry hard, they couldn’t open for long periods and we couldn’t perform, or even rehearse together. I have been a supporter of the Sanctuary for years, we used to take them food during the lockdown as it was really tough for them with no income. I’m glad that our first performance coming out of the pandemic could be to support The Wildheart Trust and all the great work they do.”

Whilst not able to perform live, Quatrapuntal used the time to record and build up their online profile with considerable success. The group have been featured on Classic FM three times this year, the biggest platform of its kind, with one video going viral with over 2.5 million views. They have also recently appeared on major stations on all 6 continents and have followers all around the world. Their debut album will be released later this year.

Quatrapuntal’s music is a unique and beautiful blend of classical, folk, world, musicals, film music and other influences. Polly Green (voice) and Chris Hirst (mandora & Portuguese guitar) will be performing their original material along with some other well-known songs. You can hear this on their Youtube channel or website, just search for “Quatrapuntal”.

Tickets include exclusive access to the Sanctuary before the concert begins from 5pm. Numbers are limited to ensure some distancing, so are likely to sell out in advance.

Tickets are available from the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary Website.
