The first West Wight Arts Association concert of 2023 will be given on Saturday January 14th by the very well regarded piano trio Northern Chords Ensemble in the Memorial Hall, Freshwater, starting at 7.00pm.

The trio consists of Ben Baker, violin, Jonathan Bloxham, cello and Daniel Lebhardt, piano. All three have played for WWAA before in different capacities and we are delighted to welcome them back.

They will play two Piano Trios by Mendelssohn, the wonderfully tuneful Op. 49 in D minor and the passionate Op.66 in C minor. In between they will play an appropriately wintry set of five miniatures for piano and violin entitled Highland Scenes by the British composer Matthew Kaner whose work Pearl was premièred at the Proms this year.
