Ignite your inner scientist as part of British Science Week! Come along and join in a whole series of fun, hands-on and interactive activities throughout the day and into the evening.

The daytime session from 11 am to 6.30 pm will feature displays and workshops from Dinosaur Isle, the Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Timeslide Studio Productions and many more. There’ll be an animation table and sound recording studio, Science of the Movie Magic sessions, geology in a jar, exploding rockets, 3-D creative card modelling and erupting volcanoes plus all sorts of other dynamic and exciting ways of finding out more about the world around us.

For the evening session – which will run from 5 pm to 8 pm – participants are encouraged to bring along a fish and chip supper to join in with stargazing if the skies are clear and an interactive presentation Twinkle Twinkle Little Star… The Secret of Star Patterns looking at the links between astronomy and the study of the brain and nervous system via a constellation card game suitable for everybody.
