Mechanosensitive Proteins, Methods of Analysis and Future Applications
Guy Butcher PhD student at Reading University
This presentation will cover ongoing research, as part of my PhD, into applying biomechanical theories to describe mechanosensing proteins in blood platelets. I shall discuss how specific structures within these proteins function as tension sensors and shock absorbers, and how we can then model them in mechanical simulations using the robotics principles of Kinematics and Statics..
(Our brief Annual Review will precede the presentation)
