Isle of Wight Dark Sky Park Update

The Vectis Astronomical Society (VAS) will host an event to present an update on the campaign to establish a Dark Sky Park on the Isle of Wight. This is project for which the Society is working in collaboration with the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The evening will be introduced by VAS Chairman Bryn Davis, and will feature presentations by John Langley of CPRE and Joel Bateman of the AONB, and possibly others. The IW Dark Skies bid was submitted earlier this year and feedback has been received on how to strengthen the case. This evening event is open to all-comers, but is specifically an opportunity for supporters of the IWDS bid to hear about the latest plans and developments in what is an exciting prospect for the Island.

The Vectis Astronomical Society meets on the 4th Friday of every month, except for December. This event is open for non-members to attend.

We have a suggested donation of £2.50 for non-members of VAS.
