Manon

This is Ryde Film Club's first screening of its 2019-2020 season. Its scheduling follows audience requests after the screening of Jean de Florette last season. Manon des Sources is the sequel to Jean de Florette.

Manon des Sources was directed by Claude Berri and released in 1986, a few months after Jean de Florette. It is category PG and lasts 113 minutes. Manon des Sources features Yves Montand, Emmanuelle Béart, and Daniel Auteuil.

Manon (Emmanuelle Béart) plots vengeance on the two men whose greed-driven conspiracy years before caused the death of her father, Jean.

Ryde Academy Theatre has ample car parking, accessed from Pell Lane, including disabled parking. The Theatre is reached via a flat walkway. The Theatre's seating is raked and padded, though some patrons may wish to bring additional cushions.

Ryde Film Club's annual membership fee is £10; admission to each screening is £5 for members, £7 for visitors. Membership and admission fees can be paid just before performances.

Before this opening performance there will be a chance to meet old friends and make new ones over refreshments from 6.30pm at Ryde Academy.
