Hi everyone, it's the last open day of the year on Sunday 25th August at the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat boathouse.
All the usual fun stalls, teddy tombola, hook a duck, books, driftwood, pottery and ropework, treasure hunt and of course lashings of different home made cakes and hot and cold drinks for your delectation.
Come along and enjoy some while you listen to the live music from West Wind (11-12) and then our old friends the Brass Monkeys after that. The shop will be open of course and we’ll make sure we have plenty of ice cream in stock.
If the weather is reasonable the crew are threatening to give us another demonstration from the “yellow peril formation swimming display team” like they did in June -amazing !!! It’s like watching a rowing eight without a boat!!
We will also be launching our Grand Draw. This will run until the FILB Free Santas Grotto on 7th December where Santa has agreed to do the draw at 3.30. There are already some fantastic prizes, a £250 Brittany ferries voucher, a beautiful hand made Island Gansey Jumper worth over £200, Adventure Activities family kayak day, a magnum of champagne, family tickets to the Monkey Sanctuary and Steam Railway, meals at local pubs etc… with more coming in all the time.
Tickets are £1 each and will be available on the day, then from the FILB shop until the end of October, at the lifeboat AGM in November, at Whistle and Hound and Mrs Middletons shops in Freshwater and from other local outlets.
Come along and see us -you know you need cake!
