The Museum of Island History situated in the historic Guildhall on Newport High Street will be open free of charge on Saturday 8 December between 10am – 2pm.

Come and view the Hidden Heroes exhibition and view some of the amazing archaeology found on the Island.

Frank Basford, Finds Liaison Officer with the Portable Antiquities Scheme will be available to identify any items of archaeology.

The Conservator for the Heritage Service will also be available to provide advice on the conservation and storage of artefacts.

There will be hands on activities for families – make a free Christmas badge or decoration to take home.

The shop has some great ideas for Christmas, with local books, games and gifts.
