With Clair Robinson
Saturday 18th August / 10am – 4pm / £50
This may be the day that changes your view on glazing forever!
The workshop is a full day of glazing, aimed at the basic to intermediate potter, who finds the process of glazing the main stumbling block in the studio.
The whole process of preparing and mixing a glaze will be covered, getting the glaze hydrometically accurate and choosing the correct method and technique for applying the glaze to the pot.
This day is dedicated to a hands-on approach and you are welcome to bring along your own stoneware pots which have been bisque fired.
Clair Robinson studied ceramic design in the early 80’s and was production manager for a local pottery for many years. Returning to college to complete teacher training in adult education, Clair started teaching pottery for the Isle of Wight College in 1988. Into the 90’s Clair joined Quay Arts and teaches students to this day on a wide range of topics. She has a thorough knowledge of pottery techniques, which she shares enthusiastically with her students.
