At this event - which was originally scheduled for 3 March, but postponed due to adverse weather - we will celebrate 50 years since the Islander aircraft we are currently restoring made the first scheduled passenger flight for the newly formed Aurigny Air Services on 1 March, 1968.

Our Islander, registration mark G-AVCN, was first flown in April 1967 and is the third aircraft made at Bembridge and the oldest Islander in existence.

There will be exhibition material about Aurigny Air Services and the project to restore B-N Islander G-AVCN

The Britten-Norman Aircraft Preservation Society is excited to be supported by Ivan Berryman as his Charity of Choice for 2013.

There is much synergy between ourselves and Ivan as art and aviation combine, to capture those special moments we all remember, but forgot to record and to re create the experiences of yesteryear on canvas.

The event will be open from 1200 -1600 at our workshop located on the Reynolds and Read site at Brickfields, Binstead, near Ryde. There is no charge for admission, all are welcome. Under 16s must be accompanied and no dogs please.

There will be tea, coffee and cakes, aircraft models and prints, information displays about the Islander and the restoration project together with visits to the restoration workshop.

All donations will be gratefully received.
