RIDDLE IN THE TALE

It’s National Storytelling Week and Taffy Thomas MBE and former storytelling laureate, is here to baffle the brain with riddle folk tales and simple riddle challenges.

People have been fascinated by riddles for as long as we have had language, and storyteller, Taffy, is a master of both stories and riddles. He’ll have you both enthralled and puzzled at the same time and just when your brain thinks it can’t take any more, musician Paul Knox, will play accompanying music on the beautiful Northumbrian pipes.

After the interval there will be a chance to see the famous Tale Coat in action. The Tale Coat is a unique working piece of art. When donned by the storyteller for performance, members of the audience will be invited to treat it almost as a jukebox by pointing to an image on the coat and saying, “We’d like to hear that story.”

At the end of the show there will be a book signing and a chance for you to meet Taffy and and try to catch him out with a riddle of your own!
