Once again the popular West Wight 60’s tribute group, The Elderberries, are performing in their own show, ‘Sounds of the Sixties’, planned for Saturday January 27th, 7.30pm at The Memorial Hall, Freshwater.

The show will include lots of new songs, and some old favourites, highlighting the popular hits and artists of the 1960’s. It will feature solos from each of the members, Bob Everson, Janet Haire, Dorothy Green, Mark Handel, Steve French and Sandra Aldridge, along with songs featuring the whole group with Toby Elliott on drums and percussion. There will also be a guest appearance by Bertie Everson.

The proceeds will be going towards the minority instrument bursary scheme at The Island Free School in memory of Barry Brooke, founder member of the Elderberries. Barry had the most beautiful tenor voice and appeared in many local shows but sadly passed away in November 2014.

Tickets are on sale at The Cabin, Freshwater and Everson’s, Totland (tel: 755733 or 07778 565 767) at £7 each.
