Island puppet enthusiast Marion Rodrigues will be at Cowes Library to give a talk and demonsration about her life-long love of puppets and will explore her early interests using simple shadow puppets, and how it became one of the earlist forms of animation.
Marion will also talk about the many different types of puppetry including the making, materials, methods, and performance as well as touching on historical and cultural aspects around the world.
There will be demonstrations using her own puppets from gloves to Punch and Judy, string puppets, rod/stick puppets and the Muppets! Some will be from he Puckpool Puppets mini museum.
The audience will be able to participate, handling and working some of the puppets. There will be a small exhibition at the end. Open to an adult and older children audience.
