A talk by Alan Phillips, BA Hons Philosophy, MA Celtic Studies
Looking at various approaches to myth taken by various mythologists, anthropologists, psychologists & philosophers, and how these may still be of relevance today.
Alan Phillips has been involved with Isle of Wight Archaeology for over 20 years, and is particularly interested in the overlaps between Archaeology, Folklore, Myth and Religion.
The West Gallery will be open till late showing ‘Illumination’ by artists Marius von Brasch and Howard Hardiman, an exhibition exploring transformations within myths and alchemy through contemporary painting, drawing and video. An exhibition catalogue will be available to purchase, which includes images of all the works, annotations by the artists and an essay titled ‘Narratives of Perception: Time, Relationships, Identity and Transformation’ by artist and writer Ella Clocksin.
Exhibition continues until Sat 2 Dec 2017.
