A lively afternoon of original music and voices to celebrate the Ferry Tales Project Exhibition: travelling through photographs, poems and songs
Poets, Robyn Bolam and Lydia Fulleylove, singer-songwriters, JC Grimshaw and Dom Prag, and photographer, Mark Lanigan, have travelled between mainland ports and the Isle of Wight for a year, creating songs, poems and photographs for the Ferry Tales Project and helping fellow ferry travellers to be creatively involved by inviting them to respond to prompts on luggage tags handed out on ferry journeys. Robyn, Lydia and Dom, with guest poet Maggie Sawkins, also ran workshops for local people in Newport, Lymington and Portsmouth – and even, once, on a ferry! Together, they have produced a CD of songs, an anthology of poems and images, and an exhibition of photographs by Mark Lanigan with poems and songs by Robyn, Lydia, JC, Dom, Maggie and the Ferry Tales Community, celebrating arrivals and departures on the Island and mainland.
These will all be launched at a lively afternoon of original music and voices on Saturday 22nd April at 3.30pm. Join us then at Dimbola Museum & Galleries.
You can become part of the exhibition yourself by leaving your own Ferry Tale on one of our luggage tags!
Admission to this event is free. Refreshments will be available to buy from our tearoom until 4.30pm.
