The Isle of Wight Green Party are delighted to announce that the new Co-Leader of the party, Jonathan Bartley, will be holding a public meeting in Newport later this month.

Jonathan was elected to lead the party alongside Caroline Lucas MP in September 2016. He is also a disability rights campaigner and the party’s Work and Pensions spokesperson.

Jonathan hit the headlines during the 2010 general election when he confronted David Cameron over his plans for disabled children. He is frequently seen and heard on national radio and television on programmes including BBC1's Big Questions, BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio 2's Jeremy Vine Show.

Mr Bartley will spend a short time in Ryde talking with leaders from the Isle Access organisation, promoting accessibility and inclusion for everyone on the Isle of Wight.

He will then be at the Riverside Centre, Newport from 2pm (2.30pm start) where he will discuss a variety of topics including Climate Change, Europe and the possibility of a progressive alliance between the parties of the centre and left.

This visit to the Isle of Wight is the latest in a series of high profile Green Party events. We know that islanders will not want to miss this opportunity to meet, listen and question a national political leader!

Green party members are welcome to stay after the event for a brief extra session to learn more about supporting the island Green Party in the Council elections in May 2017.

Saturday 19th November Riverside Centre, Newport 2pm for 2.30pm start
