Europe's finest Country-Blues Duo RAG MAMA RAG plus support from Red Sqwrl.

Formed in 1991 and based in France, English Duo Rag Mama Rag have slowly and consistently built up their reputation as one of Europe's finest Country Blues acts. Featuring Ashley Dow on Henderson Acoustic Guitar, National & Dobro Resonator Bottleneck Guitars, Weissenborn Acoustic Lap Steel, Ukulele and vocals, plus Deborah Dow on harmonica, washboard, percussion and backing vocals.

Rag Mama Rag create an exceptionally full and hard driving rhythmic sound which soon has audiences feet tapping. Their repertoire is 20s and 30s Blues based, but extremely varied, encompassing Mississippi Blues, East Coast Ragtime sounds, early White Country tunes, Original Compositions, and many other regional styles of the 20s and 30s period.

Touring non stop in Europe during the last ten years Rag Mama Rag have performed at over 2000 concerts and have played at many major festivals in France, Belgium and Germany. Don’t miss the chance to see them on their November UK tour promoting their acclaimed seventh Studio Album “Big Road Blues”.

“A wonderful evening, with each set packed full of numbers, amiably presented by an unassuming yet multi-talented couple who did not leave anybody disappointed. There is absolutely no doubt about their calibre! A must see!” BLUES IN BRITAIN

“These really are a cut above the rest.” THE CHICAGO MUSIC NETWORK

Support comes from Red Sqwrl: Indigenous to the Island, Red Sqwrl are a Country Blues string band with a laid back Café Orchestra style who perform a traditional repertoire steeped in old-time blues from the jug-band era of Memphis Minnie to the ragtime & blues of Blind Boy Fuller and Fred McDowell.
