Part of Ryde Arts Festival 2015
Ryde’s Vernon Square Garden just off Melville Street is a green oasis of Calm, in this beautiful Regency seaside town.
The Vernon Square garden is bordered by a beautiful mix of Regency and Victorian houses some dating from 1828, nine of which are listed.
The square of land that the garden now sits was originally intended to have a lodge built on it, luckily for present day residents of Ryde this never happened.
The Vernon Square is a short walk from the junction of George Street and Melville Street, and is open to residents and holidaymakers alike.
The garden is available for hire for garden parties, photography assignments and art shows. The garden is now owned by the preservation society who maintain the garden with the help of donations and membership subscriptions.
