A CELEBRATION OF CONTEMPORARY CRAFTS BY LOCAL ARTISTS

Sat 22nd – Sun 23rd November 10am – 4.30pm

Following the success of last years ‘Christmas Crafts by Candlelight’ the Crafty Artists are returning with our Hand-Made Christmas event.

With eight local artisans showing gallery quality arts and crafts at affordable prices, you can browse in our Christmas marketplace knowing that every item on offer is made, by hand, here on the Island.

There will be a huge variety on display, be it stocking filler or special statement piece, we’ve got it covered. Items on offer will include stylish felt scarves, handbags and cosy wraps by Gillian Chapman. Beautiful glass snowflakes and tree decorations by Pauline Evans. Ray Dickenson ‘turns’ wood into beautiful, usable objects, while Juliet Collins creates unique animal sculptures and wall plaques. Pat Clarke’s fantasy paintings are very unusual and incredibly detailed, and the driftwood art of Gillian Connor is quirky and quite unique. Robin Hawker is a local photographer specialising in the beautiful land and seascapes that surround us. Joining the group for the first time is guest artist Keith Plater who designs and makes jewellery and metalwork using a variety of metals.

The hall will be decorated with Christmas lights and garlands to create a magical festive atmosphere, and there will be a ‘sneak pre-view’ of our Hand-made Christmas Tree which will be displayed at the Brighstone Tree Festival in December.

Admission is free, and every visitor is invited to enter our FREE PRIZE DRAW with the chance to win a Christmas Hamper containing a gift from each of the artists. Tea and delicious home-made cakes will be available.
